Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels too long, but we have a couple things that might save you some problems and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is already heating up in Justin and the last thing you want is to discover is that you’re facing an AC repair. Going through this short checklist now may save you from sweating this summer.
- Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost each and every single of our lists of pointers because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you cozy. This costs you more money and causes more wear and tear which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, take off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers pulled off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and swap them after they've dried. - Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can inhibit your system and cause it to lower its efficiency. - Schedule Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up helps improve the life of your system and keeps it working at peak efficiency. Spring is the best time to arrange your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be handled before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.
We can't help you with all of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to schedule your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 940-202-1184.
